6th November : Cultural insights and marketing

Venue: London School of International Communication, 15 Holland Park Gardens, London, W14 8DZ

The talk will give greater understanding of how cross-cultural knowledge could help brand communication and marketing, with specific examples from the food industry. We will look at how global trends influence local cultures, how local cultures find their place in global trends and where cultural insight comes in to make this possible… For example, how does one sell chocolate in China? How does a local food like Falafel become globally accepted ? Cultural insight experts Felicia Schwartz and Serdar Paktin will share some thoughts and cases.

Felicia Schwartz is a former Agency strategic planner who specialises in cultural consumer insight and cross cultural communication. She spent 13 years in China. Serdar Paktin is a creative strategist and semiotician who specialises in creating meanings, cultural insight and brand positioning.
