Panellists
Professor Mary Stewart is a professor of psychology. Her research focuses on understanding autistic people’s experiences across the lifespan and promoting social inclusion. Using participatory methods, Mary works with seldom-listened to individuals to co-create service design. Her projects span primary and secondary education, university, employment, and social and health care, addressing life course inequalities through interdisciplinary work. Exploring concepts like social interaction and connectedness, examining their impact on quality of life, wellbeing, and identity.
Dr Shakiba Moghadam is a Chartered Psychologist and a University lecturer in psychology, as well as the Chair of the British Psychology Society’s Human Rights Coordinating Group and the Chair of Southampton Solent University’s BIPOC Staff Network. Shakiba’s research focuses on the mental health literacy, wellbeing and help-seeking behaviours of marginalised communities, including, refugees and asylum seekers.
Tanya McCalmon is an inclusion consultant and leader specialising in bridging the gaps between diversity, equity and inclusion and intercultural communication. She is known for designing and delivering bespoke learning experiences and strategic solutions that help organisations embed inclusion into their core practices.
