On 19 June, SIETAR UK held its AGM (Annual General Meeting). The purpose of the AGM is to summarise for members what the society has done during the previous year, including the events we put on, and to say something about our future plans.
This was the fourth year that we have held our AGM as an online event, which generally enables more people to attend because of the saving in time and cost for travelling. However, probably because of an overload of online events in the last 4 years, and the fact that an AGM is rarely the most riveting event in people’s calendar, the turnout was quite small.
Nevertheless, we got through a lot of business and had a chance to chat and network both before and after the event.
The slides of the President’s report and of a report given by Katharina Lefringhausen, our Community Development Director, about the RAAS project (Refugees and Asylum seekers) which she heads up, are both available to read. The financial report is, however, only available to members in the Members Section of our website.
We have had several departures from the Board in the last two years, and we would welcome volunteers either for specific roles or to help in specific projects, particularly for events and professional development. Please contact us on info@sietar.co.uk if you would like to discuss this further.
With best wishes for the rest of 2023 and 2024.
